PCA Sophomore Joshua Howard represented PCA in a nationwide Art Contest this year. The contest was titled, "Turning Memory to Strength: Living with Courage, Resilience, and Hope" and was sponsored by Chapman University and South Carolina Council on the Holocaust. Joshua wrote a poem as tribute to local survivor Joe Engel entitled, "They Counted our Heads." Joshua, along with all students in PCA's Holocaust History Elective Course, were challenged to listen to a survivor's testimony and then respond with an artistic expression. Joshua's poem was noted by the university and council for honorable mention in a nationwide contest! He was awarded a framed certificate in upper school chapel. Congratulations Joshua!
