PCA Hosts Community Service Fair
Students from Palmetto Christian Academy’s high school eagerly greeted representatives from numerous local volunteer organizations on August 31 to find out how they can get involved and serve the community. 17 local groups participated in PCA’s first High School Community Service Fair.
Students discovered a variety of ways to put their faith into action - by exploring volunteer opportunities with East Cooper Community Outreach, Lowcountry Orphan Relief, Water Missions International, Ronald McDonald House, and Lowcountry Food Bank – just to name a few.
"Our mission is to equip students to pursue Jesus Christ passionately as they impact the culture. We feel that we have done a good job of equipping students academically and have provided many opportunities for them to passionately pursue Jesus Christ and personal spiritual growth”, PCA Headmaster JD Zubia said, “The logical next step then is for our students to learn how best to impact their culture through heartfelt community service."
During the community service fair, students were able to ask questions and sign up to volunteer at upcoming events. It’s good for the organizations which need volunteer help, and good for the students, who each have their individual interests and passions, to find an organization which matches those interests.
