Jocelyn Hurley

High School Math Teacher

Jocelyn grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she graduated from Charlotte Christian School and went on to attend North Carolina State University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences in 1999, relocating to Charleston in 2000 to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Studies (2003) from the College of Charleston and MUSC. After spending a year working in research, Jocelyn missed working with the younger generation and began her teaching career in 2004 as a middle school science teacher. She taught seven years as a classroom teacher at two Charleston-area independent schools and in 2015 earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree from The Citadel. While pursuing her M.Ed., she began tutoring math and science to middle and high school students. The part-time tutoring quickly became full-time and she continues to run her own business tutoring middle, high school, and college students in math and science. Jocelyn lives in Mount Pleasant with her two daughters, Josie and Molly, who attend PCA. She and her daughters are members of Seacoast Church where she serves weekly with the student ministry.
