The Cox Family
This year, we welcomed the Cox Family into our community. Mom Ashley recently shared with us her thoughts about Palmetto Christian Academy.
Why did you choose PCA? We want our kids to grow up in a faithful, Bible-based Christian school community. Our kids spend much of their day in school, and it is important to us that they are interacting with peers and leaders who share our values and reinforce what we teach them at home. We also want an environment where our kids will be challenged to excel academically and to develop as independent thinkers who are confident in their convictions.
How would you describe your children's experiences at PCA so far? Our boys fit in at PCA and made new friends quickly. Everyone in the community is incredibly welcoming. We want our kids to feel rooted in the community and we feel like we have found a home at PCA.
What do you feel your children get at PCA that they would not get somewhere else? Every school is dealing with the increasing politicization of education and pressures from the culture, and all of it is amplified with smartphones and social media. These challenges are not going away, and it is an advantage and essential that PCA relies on a Biblical, gospel-centered worldview to work through them.
How is PCA special to your family? We are grateful for all the opportunities for parents to get involved, including helping with class celebrations, field trips, volunteering, and worshipping with our kids in chapel. It is special to be able to be engaged in and contribute to the community.
What advice would you give families who are considering Palmetto Christian Academy for their children next year? The people – families, teachers, and staff—make this community special. Come visit to get a feel, and reach out to current families to hear about their experiences.
