Kim Moser
What do you teach? I joyfully teach middle school science.
What is your educational background? My teaching background is very diverse. The first half of my career was spent in a public school system in Georgia. There I spent my time in a variety of schools and classroom settings including general ed. and gifted resource classrooms. I also spent 3 years in administration. After that, I had the opportunity to teach at a Christian school where my husband and sons were. God blessed me so much there, teaching me how to transition from public to Christian education. Then, the Lord brought my family to PCA. This is our 10th year here!
How many years have you taught? This is my silver anniversary! 25 years!
What do you love most about PCA? There are many things that I love about PCA, but this year one thing stands out above the rest, prayer. The Lord calls us to pray and PCA is a family who does this well! It has been a tough year for me and the Lord really showed me his faithfulness. The amazing administration, my wonderful colleagues, students and their families pray! At no other school, in my opinion, do Christ followers truly come together in prayer like they do at PCA. When passing in the halls and people say that they will be praying for you, they actually do. It is not mere words, but actions. This example set by parents and teachers models prayer for our students and this partnership is raising prayer warriors, even for our youngest students. Hearing a student's prayers is like sweet music. Being able to pray throughout the day is what I truly love about PCA!
What was your first job? My first job in high school was at Chick-fil-A. I loved working there and got all the CFA I could eat!
If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be? Why? If I could live anywhere it would be Hume Lake, California in the high Sierra Navada mountains. Since I was a little girl this has been my happy place. It is home to Hume Lake Christian Camps where I went from elementary school all the way through high school. My family had a cabin there and it is a place where I feel the closest to the Lord.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? My grandmothers' passed down a recipe for a dish called veranika. It is a traditional Mennonite dish (my family is mostly Mennonite Brethren) and it is absolutely the best! Not healthy at all. That is what makes it so good!
