Storybook Characters Come To Life On Stage
Palmetto Christian Academy kindergartners visited the historic Dock Street Theater in downtown Charleston last Friday. The students were sitting on the edge of their seats as they watched the author Eric Carle’s stories come to life on stage. While on the field trip, they were able to see characters from the iconic books such as, “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See” and “The Hungry Caterpillar”. It was true kindergarten magic watching the students enjoy the theater in awe of each storybook character coming to life. As one student said, “the hungry caterpillar was as big as me… whoa”. What a gift to watch these young students appreciate the importance and beauty of the arts. The kindergarten team of teachers did a wonderful job connecting the books read in class to the stage as they compared and contrasted the books to the play. What a special day at the theatre with such a precious group of students.
