Congratulations to our 2022-2023 National Honor Society Inductees! Nineteen new members were inducted prior to the Thanksgiving break into this premier organization which recognizes outstanding high school students across the nation. The minimum criteria for the inductees are that they must be in tenth grade, a student of good character, in their second year at PCA, having either completed one honors course or are currently taking an honors course, and have a 4.2 GPA.

These students exemplify the pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. Being selected for induction into the National Honor Society is an honor which shows a genuine commitment from the students. With the new inductees, the current number of members stands at an impressive 41 students!

The ceremony opened with a Welcome from NHS Co-Advisor, Marcia Siebert, followed by the pledge to the Bible and the American Flag led by Chaplain Haley Tyler and the National Anthem sung by the High School Choir. After, Co-Advisor Erin Grimsley began the induction as the NHS officers: President Abigail Walters, Vice President Autumn Benton, Secretary Kaila Guyan, Treasurer Cooper Anderson and Chaplain Haley Tyler continued by lighting a candle for each of the 5 pillars, speaking on each of the service traits.

Ms. Grimsley invited each of the inductees to the stage to receive their certificate of recognition. To end the ceremony, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Myra Finneran came up to the stage to give congratulatory remarks and Upper School Principal Sean Keiper closed the ceremony with a prayer. Afterwards students posed for pictures with their families and attended a small reception in the Welcome Center for parents and new inductees.

“I’m extremely proud of the officers who have stepped up to lead NHS this year,” said Grimsley, “and of the students who have worked hard to maintain their membership, and of the new inductees. My hope for NHS this year is that we cultivate hearts of service that are humble in all leadership pursuits.”

Congratulations to the newest inductees: Greta Anderson, Sofia Bagwell, Evans Baker, Sophie Baumgardner, Ava Bowen, Cate Lynn Creech, Bella Davenport, Bella De Los Reyes, Hannah Delaney, Sadie Ethridge, Christopher Garner, Seven Overcash, Lauren Pabst, Emily Romfo, Peyton Shaw, Cokey Suddeth, Gavin Wease, Scotty Wrenn, and Angelina Xiong.
