Impact: Upper School Chapel Fulfilling Our School Mission
This year's chapel theme could not be better for the time in which we are living. The theme, “Living to Please God”, is a great reminder to all that no matter what is happening in the world, we, as his children, should keep our eye on what is important, the Lord and His word.
Charlie Wulff, Dean of Students, says, “The hope and prayer is that our students will come away from chapels understanding that the only one we live to please is God. In order to do that, we must first trust Him as our savior and have faith in Him; for without faith, it is impossible to please God.”
This year's speakers were chosen to help students see and understand what living to please God looks like in everyday life. Chapel speakers include pastor and youth pastors from the Mount Pleasant/Charleston area, as well as ECBC and PCA faculty and staff, and parents.
The IMPACT team is also helping to bring the theme of the year to life. Made up of a group of eight 9th through 12th graders, the team hopes to add more to this year's worship time. Co-student leader senior Bella Byham said, “We want to help people to feel more included. We want everyone to be able to enjoy IMPACT and enjoy Christ through it. We want people to be impacted by impact.”
That is exactly what PCA chapels are intended to do - impact lives by engaging students in heartfelt worship and giving them a strong foundation in scriptural principles that will serve them well.
