A Stunning Stage Performance Brings "Beauty And The Beast" To Life!
Be our guest! The PCA Middle School Drama Department, led by Drama teacher, Jenni Brown, wowed sold out audiences last Thursday through Saturday in the classic tale of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Junior.
The show was full of drama, musical ballads, perfected French accents, laughter and even the sponsor “commercials” were a hit!
Eighth grader Bella Pollard performed the role of Belle. “My favorite part of being Belle was the close relationships I built during the practices and building up to the play, they are all my really close friends now and I’m just so glad I got to do this with them,” states Bella.
Chase Desmond, eighth grader, scored the role of villain “Gaston”. The audience couldn’t get over his wig! “It was amazing working together with the cast." Chase reflects, “My favorite part about being Gaston was making people laugh.”
The Beast was played by eighth grader, Miles Johnson! In full costume and makeup, the transition into the beast was impressive. Miles says, “One thing I loved about being a part of Beauty and the Beast was seeing the work we put into the play pay off on opening night.”
Choir Director, Jolene Hethcox, arranged the musical score for the play and it was choreographed by PCA parent, Kelsey Nelson. The backdrops were created by the Upper School Art 2 class. Many thanks to parents for helping with the set, costumes, makeup, backstage coordination and so much more!
We appreciate our community sponsors for the event; The David M. Gilstin Insurance Agency, ZAGS and Lowcountry Gastroenterology.
Our PCA Drama students are bright stars and we cannot wait for next year's performance!
