PCA provides an affectionate and orderly academic environment where middle school students can discover the Christian life and a life of service and leadership. Our program of study helps students develop strong core competencies in preparation for academic achievement in the coming years.
The middle school program of study includes:
- An interdisciplinary humanities course that uses history as a framework for the study of literature, worldviews and ideas that have influenced society, providing a solid foundation for understanding the major ideas and movements of thought in the 19th and 20th centuries.
- Small classes that provide opportunities for participation, mentoring, and leadership.
- Latin language study in conjunction with Grammar for strong verbal and written training.
- Strong mathematics and science instruction.
PCA’s commitment to a strong core curriculum taught in a nurturing environment provides a solid foundation for academic excellence in secondary school. Our middle school graduates are well-prepared for a successful and rewarding academic career in which they will be able to build off of a solid base of skills and knowledge gained at PCA.
Learning takes place both inside and beyond the classroom walls for every PCA student. PCA middle school athletic teams provide opportunities to develop Christian character and sportsmanship. Students participate in the performing arts through PCA’s choirs, chorale ensembles and musical drama productions. Throughout the year class sponsored events such as ice cream sales, Annual Talent Show, and the 8th Grade Washington D.C. trip provide fun and fellowship for our middle school community.
